If you can see what I see

About me........

Myself and Rosie on our way geocaching at Blea Tarn

My name if you have guessed is Paul Im 39 years of age two kids Antonia and Aidan, 1 working dog called Rosie and a Wife Melissa.

I am very keen at most outdoor sports like walking, cycling and kite bugging on the beach, I have a Flexifoil buggy and land board the kites i own are a 2.5m Bullet and 4m Eolo Radsail which are both traction kites, I have been buggying for the past 4 years and just like the sport of paramotoring I find myself waiting for the right weather.

I also enjoy shooting and working my dog rosie at local shoots around Lancashire, I have run Rosie in quite a few working tests and joined a gun dog training club near Piling Lancashire. I have been shooting for nearly 20yrs now and enjoy the shooting as much as watching my Rosie work.

I run a small Electrical Contracting Company in Blackpool, www.topspark.co.uk, I have worked for myself now for the last five years and gradually seen my client base expand and now find myself not only working in Blackpool but throughout the country.

I have always from being young wanted to learn to fly, I have had numerous flying lessons in both micro light and fixed wing aircraft but as soon as I thought I had enough money to see it through something always happened and the money was spend on nesscesitites rather than a dream.

For a few years now I have been following the sport of paramotoring, and last year I started saving, something I am not very good at because as soon as I get money it seems to go usually on gadgets.

In May of this year I started looking around for equipment and was quite lucky to find a guy near Birmingham selling up. He was selling eveything so I ended up with everything I needed in one purchase. I set of from Blackpool one evening with pound notes hanging out of my pocket and a big grin on my face knowing what I was coming back home with. What a jouney that was 5 hours round trip and on the way back all I could smell was two stroke fuel…..let the training begin.

I arranged with aerofix in Keswick to carry out a full inspection of my wing, repack my reserve and check over the harness. Some minor work was carried out but all in all its like brand new and well looked after.

Whilst I was in Keswick I had a call from a guy called Paul Haxby of AXB Sports in Doncaster, basicly saying see you in the morning to start your training. I was left stunned in the middle of the carpark in Keswick, I didn’t know what to think was it excitement or a thought that’s its here in a few days ill be flying.

That night Mel packed all my gear and enough clothes to last me three days, and booked in a hotel.

The first day was stunning it was red hot when I turned up at the training field, where I met Paul Haxby for the first time. The majority of the day was spent kiting the wing and learning the basics of the wing and its structure.

The second day we had a breifing about air law and meteorology and more kiting of the wing, that night we stayed there quite late just hoping for the wind to drop a little, I returned home the 3 third day as the weather turned.

I have continued my training with Mark Ingham at Pendle PPG, and now I have met numerous friends within the sport and enjoy flying from other peoples fields or events...

Fly within your limits......Paul
